Irene Ruiz Muniente is a Spanish dancer and choreographer currently based in Montreal, Canada.
Her career in Dance started at a very young age attending various dance and music schools in her hometown of Barcelona. Her first contact with dance was through jazz and contemporary dance, and later with ballet. It was afterwards during her adolescence that her impulses and the great influence of her grandmother led her to make contact with the tradition of Spanish dance and Flamenco, thus establishing a very close relationship with the city of Seville. In 2019, Irene graduated from the Professional Dance Conservatory Antonio Ruiz Soler of Seville in the specialty of Spanish Dance (including Danza Bolera, Danza Estilizada, Flamenco and Folklore) which she combined with training in other professional Flamenco schools and contact with some of the best Flamenco dancers in the country. In the same year, Irene moved to the city of Montreal in Canada where she is currently finishing her academic studies in Contemporary Dance and Choreography, as well as in Jazz Music at Concordia University.
In addition to her study and interest in movement, Irene has an extreme sensibility and knowledge of music and rhythm, as well as some knowledge of theatre techniques and improvisation. This is the reason why her creations are closely linked to the musical and rhythmic perspective of movement and imagination. The work of this artist is a clear statement of the connection that the human body establishes with the rhythmic impulse and its most natural manifestation: dancing.

Irene Ruiz Muniente es una bailarina y coreógrafa española que actualmente reside en Montreal, Canadá.
Su carrera en la Danza, comenzó desde muy joven asistiendo a varias escuelas de danza y música en su ciudad natal, Barcelona. Su primer contacto con la danza fue a través del jazz y la danza contemporánea, y más tarde se añadió el ballet. Fue más tarde, ya en su adolescencia cuando sus impulsos y la gran influencia de su abuela la llevaron a tomar contacto con la tradición de la Danza Española y el Flamenco estableciendo así una relación muy estrecha con la ciudad de Sevilla. En 2017 Irene se gradúa en el Conservatorio Profesional de Danza Antonio Ruiz Soler de Sevilla en la especialidad de Danza Española, que compagina con la formación en otras escuelas profesionales de Flamenco de la ciudad y el contacto con los mejores bailaores de Flamenco del país. El año 2019 Irene Ruiz se traslada a la ciudad de Montreal Canadá donde actualmente se encuentra finalizando sus estudios académicos en Danza Contemporánea y Coreografía, así como de Música Jazz en Concordia University.
Irene suma a su estudio e interés por el movimiento su extrema sensibilidad y conocimiento de la música (piano) y el ritmo, así como algunos conocimientos de técnicas teatrales y de Improvisación. Esta es la razón principal de que las creaciones de Irene estén estrechamente ligadas a la perspectiva musical y rítmica del movimiento. El trabajo de esta artista es un clara defensa de la conexión que cualquier cuerpo humano establece con el impulso rítmico y su manifestación más natural: danzar.
